Spring Rain

Exhibition – Spring Rain

1' x 6' steel wire and quartz crystal  |  Quotidien at CelerySpace - Berkeley, California - February 2014

Spring Rain celebrates the spirit of water expressed through metal wire, sprinkled with quartz crystal stones. Water is life. In Eastern thought the elements of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water represent the fundamental energy patterns from which all material matter exists. It is living in balance with all the elements that sustain a healthy mind, body and spirit. The attributes of metal are that of persistence, strength, and determination. Metal attracts and holds water. Water supports the element of wood and wood is a manifestation of life, growth – springtime. Water is feminine (yin) in character – nurturing and fluid, it embodies emotion and the subconscious. It represents purity, intelligence and wisdom. Jacques Benveniste (1935 - 2004), a French scientist, was the first to observe that water holds memory. Other scientists have also found that water does indeed react to blessings, negative and positive emotions and environmental conditions.

Considering that 70% of the earth is covered with water, and our body is composed of 60-70% water, could it be that 70% of what we feel and think is influenced by internal thoughts and external projections? Take a moment to reflect and give 'thanks' to the water you drink and see how this small gesture can have a magical effect…
